Nuclear Science Week

October 20-24, 2025 | Oak Ridge, Tennessee

Nationally-known Nuclear Science Week (NSW) will be held in Oak Ridge NEXT WEEK! AMSE foundation and partners are hosting events designed to connect students, educators, industry leaders, and the public with the past, present, and future of nuclear science.

Monday, Oct. 20: Welcome & Opening Reception, by invitation only. 

  

Tuesday, Oct. 21: “New Nuclear” Dirt Bus Tour (fully booked), The Innovation Lab Tours at Oak Ridge High School are available, and Nuclear Career Fair at Roane State is free to attend from 4:00-7:00pm. 

 

Wednesday, Oct. 22: Atomic Education Summit, a hands-on STEM experience for thousands of students during the day and opens for free to the public from 4:00-7:30pm. 

 

Thursday, Oct. 23: “80 Years of Atomic Innovation” program at the Historic Oak Ridge Playhouse is free to attend though seats are limited, followed by a historic Tennis Court Dance in partnership with the Manhattan Project National Historical Park. 

 

Friday, Oct. 24: ETEC Special Public Meeting at ORAU’s Pollard Auditorium scheduled for 7:00-9:00am. Also on Friday, at AMSE from 4:00-7:30 pm will be the family-friendly Atomic Expo: Tomorrow’s Atomic Future featuring cutting-edge technology and industry leaders sharing their exclusive insights. 

 

2nd Annual ETEC Pre-Game Power Up Tailgate

Saturday, November 1 | 3.5 Hours before Game | UTK Zeanah Bldg.

Join ETEC members at the Zeanah Engineering Complex on the UTK campus for a fun Pre-Game Power Up tailgate before the Tennessee vs. Oklahoma football game. The event will feature, networking with companies, faculty, and students, food, drinks, and nuclear engineering lab tours. Thanks to Laborup, McGriff, Spectra Tech, and System One for sponsoring and to our co-host the University of Tennessee Department of Nuclear Engineering!

 

ETEC's Annual Meeting & Awards Celebration

Friday, December 12 | 8:30-10:30am | Hilton Knoxville Airport

You're invited to the ETEC Annual Meeting and Awards Celebration, a banquet held once a year to celebrate winners of the Muddy Boot Award and Postma Young Professional Medal, gather the membership community, and listen to a great keynote speaker. This year's keynote speaker will be Dr. Lynne Parker, Former White House AI Leader, Robotics Pioneer, and Higher Education Leader.
