Jason Hatfield

Vice President and Chief of Staff

Triso-X

Jason Hatfield serves as Vice President, Chief of Staff for Triso-X, a wholly owned subsidiary of X-Energy. In this role he supports the President, Joel Duling, in implementing the company vision to manufacture the most robust Nuclear Fuel on Earth.

Prior to joining Triso-X, Hatfield was the Senior Vice President, Operations at Longenecker & Associates (L&A). He managed profit and loss responsibility for more than half of L&A’s business, growing customers and diversifying the portfolio during his tenure. Mr. Hatfield also supported Readiness efforts across DOE, such as serving as the N3B IVR Lead for TA-21 in Los Alamos New Mexico in July 2024 and WIPP CORR Lead for SS Confinement Ventilation System in February 2025.

Hatfield was the Mission Assurance Director for the Waste Treatment Plant in Richland, Washington.  Hatfield was responsible for leading the Environmental Program, Safety & Health Program, Quality Assurance Program, Chemical Safety Management Program, Nuclear Safety, and served as the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board liaison for the project.

Hatfield also served as the corporate manager of Startup and Operations for Bechtel National’s Nuclear Security and Environmental business unit which manages DOE and DOD sites and projects across the United States.  He was responsible for ensuring capital projects were successful in transitioning from construction to operation, including managing the corporate Readiness program and participating in Readiness reviews at multiple DOD and DOE sites.  Hatfield was also responsible for successful management and operation of operating sites which included Pantex, Y-12, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Bluegrass Chemical Agent Pilot Plant, and Pueblo Chemical Agent Pilot Plant.

Prior to his corporate role, Hatfield served at the Y-12 National Security Complex for over 18 years in roles such as Deputy Project Manager of the Uranium Processing Facility, Chief of Staff to the President and CEO of CNS, Director of Emergency Services, Operations Manager of the Highly Enriched Uranium Materials Facility (HEUMF), as well as various Operations and Engineering roles.  Notably, Hatfield oversaw the Startup, Readiness and Operation of the $550M HEUMF facility, leading the Operations team through the start-up of a new category 2 nuclear facility which was completed on time and under budget, having zero pre-start issues in the government’s Operational Readiness Review.

In 2000, Hatfield earned a B.S. in manufacturing and industrial engineering technology from the Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee and an M.B.A. in 2003 from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  In 2010, Hatfield received a “40 Under Forty” award, presented by the Greater Knoxville Business Journal to young leaders in the workplace and the community.  Hatfield serves his local community in leadership roles in multiple non-profit organizations.
