During his tenure at Methodist Medical Center, Biggs has helped lead the hospital to a number of significant accomplishments including the deployment of a new electronic health record system, renovations to all patient units, implementation of medical and nurse residency programs as well as the launch of a new family medicine residency program that is now helping train and develop future physicians to meet the growing primary care needs in our region. Under his leadership, the hospital has also received numerous accolades from organizations such as Leapfrog, Healthgrades, US News & World Report, American Heart Association and IBM Watson. Now in its 80th year, Methodist serves a population of approximately 200,000 citizens.

Originally from Oak Ridge, Biggs earned a master’s degree in health administration from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee.
