He will be talking about what is happening at East Tennessee Children's Hospital.
ETEC members meet each Friday morning from 7:30am-8:30am. This meeting is open for both in-person and virtual attendees who are ETEC members and their guests.
We welcome our members and their guests to attend the ETEC meetings in person. It is the best way to connect, or re-connect, with friends, colleagues, and potential business opportunities.

Matt C. Schaefer
President & CEO
East Tennessee Children's Hospital
Matt Schaefer joined East Tennessee Children’s Hospital as President & CEO in August 2020 from Children’s Hospital New Orleans where he previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
Prior to his time at Children’s Hospital New Orleans, Matt served in a variety of director and executive roles at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston including President of Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus.
Matt’s career as a children’s hospital administrator and leader followed his time as an Associate for McKinsey & Company, a global management consultant firm, and as an engineer with Mide Technology Corporation, a research and development engineering firm in the Boston area.
Matt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M and a master’s in business administration from Rice University, Jones Graduate School of Management.
Matt currently serves on the Boards of the Ronald McDonald House, Children’s Hospital Alliance of Tennessee, East Tennessee Foundation, and Tennessee Hospital Association.
Matt and his wife Kristin have been married for 20 years and they have two daughters, Allison (17) and Sarah (15).
