ETEC members meet each Friday morning from 7:30am-8:30am. This meeting is open to all members and their guests.

We welcome our members and their guests to attend the ETEC meetings in person. It is the best way to connect, or re-connect, with friends, colleagues, and potential business opportunities. 

Join us at ETEC in person on Friday, March 15, 2024 for our featured presentation, "From Concept to Reality: Financing the Future of Clean Energy". Michael Walton, Managing Partner of Energy Transition Finance, part of the Emerald Strategy Group, will focus on the practical aspects of financing clean energy projects, from early-stage R&D to commercial deployment. Walton will discuss the strategies that cleantech firms can use to bridge the valleys of death by leveraging public and private sources of capital with a special focus on the DOE Loan Programs Office using case studies like the Advanced Clean Energy Storage Project in Delta, Utah and Gradient Comfort to illustrate the journey of scaling clean energy technologies.

Michael is an energy transition leader with 20 years of experience as a senior executive, cleantech mentor, sustainability consultant, and project architect in a wide range of sectors. As the managing partner at Energy Transition Finance, Michael supports a wide range of clients seeking large scale project finance through public and private sources with a focus on the DOE Loan Programs Office. He supports projects deploying renewable energy, advanced nuclear, hydrogen, carbon capture, electric vehicles, energy storage, virtual power plants, and clean fuels. Michael received his professional architecture degree from the University of Tennessee, summa cum laude, and attended the ETH-Zurich as a guest student. He has received awards for his sustainability leadership from the Mayor of Washington DC, the Governor of Tennessee, the Footprint Foundation and the Chamber of Commerce. In addition, he was selected to attend the Harvard Business School Young American Leaders Program.
