Teresa Sherrill Duncan
Nuclear Strategist, Tennessee Board of Regents
Vice President of Workforce and Community Development, Roane State Community College
Teresa Duncan serves as Vice President of Workforce and Community Development at Roane State Community College, where she leads initiatives to strengthen the regional workforce pipeline through transformational partnerships with business and industry. She also oversees Roane State’s nine campus locations, Athletics, and serves as Site Manager for the Oak Ridge Campus.
In addition to her leadership at Roane State, Tennessee Board of Regents Chancellor Flora W. Tydings appointed Duncan as the College System of Tennessee’s Nuclear Workforce Lead Strategist. In this role, she helps lead Tennessee’s nuclear workforce strategy, advancing efforts to build and sustain a highly skilled workforce that supports the state's growing nuclear industry.
Throughout her career, Duncan has focused on workforce training and development, with a particular emphasis on supporting the region’s unique economic landscape. Roane State operates a campus in Oak Ridge, a city widely recognized as a hub for the nuclear industry and central to the college’s service area. Thanks to the location of this important campus, Duncan has been able to work closely with businesses large and small to develop programs tailored to meet critical workforce demands.
Duncan holds an Associate of Science degree in Business Administration from Roane State, a Bachelor of Science in Business Education and Business Management from Tennessee Wesleyan University, and a Master of Science in Curriculum Development from Tennessee Technological University. Prior to joining Roane State, she served as a national corporate trainer for the Avery Dennison Corporation.

The meeting will be held at the University of Tennessee Outreach Center, located at the back corner of the building on the Applebee's side. The entrance faces the Quality Inn and Applebee's. Look for the awning and sign marked University of Tennessee Outreach Center.

Please note: The main entrance to the ETEC office will be locked.

Directions

From Knoxville via S. Illinois Avenue (TN-62 W):

  • Turn right onto S. Rutgers Avenue.
  • Continue to the intersection of Rice Road and Rider Road, across from ORNL Corporate       Headquarters.
  • After passing the Quality Inn, turn left onto Rider Road.
  • The University of Tennessee Outreach Center will be on your right.

Alternate Route from Knoxville via S. Illinois Avenue (TN-62 W):

  • Take the sharp right onto Lafayette Drive.
  • Turn left onto W. Gettysburg Avenue.
  • Turn right onto Manhattan Avenue.
  • Continue straight across S. Rutgers Avenue onto Rice Road.
  • At the intersection of Rice Road and Rider Road, turn right onto Rider Road.
  • The University of Tennessee Outreach Center will be on your right.

If inclement weather is expected on a Friday morning, and we decide to move to an ALL-VIRTUAL Zoom format, we will notify members by 5:00 p.m. the evening before. 

Newsletter subscribers will receive an email, and notices will be posted on the ETEC homepage and the calendar event page. We encourage all attendees to check for updates and use the Zoom registration link to join virtually if necessary.

If you do not receive an email and there are no notices on the website, we will proceed with the in-person (hybrid) meeting as planned, but we advise everyone to use their own judgment based on road conditions in their areas.
