Featured Fridays are a monthly meeting with a little ETEC Board of Directors business and a lot of helpful updates from federal, contractor, community, and business partners. All members and their guests are welcome to attend; in person or virtually.

We welcome our members and guests to attend the ETEC meetings in person. It is the best way to connect, or re-connect, with friends, colleagues, and potential business opportunities.

No registration is necessary for in-person attendance.

Betsy Henderson is a native East Tennessean, committed conservative Republican, and two-term Knox County School Board member. Elected twice as Chair, she has fought to empower parents, keep schools strong, and champion common-sense policies that put families first.

A University of Tennessee graduate and product of public schools, Betsy lives in Hardin Valley with her husband Scott and their children, Logan and Molly. Her East Tennessee roots run deep: her father immigrated from Greece at 16, and her parents built successful local businesses through hard work and determination.

After college, she served East Tennessee in Congressman Jimmy Duncan’s office, starting just days after 9/11 and standing strong through national crises. Elected to the School Board in 2020, Betsy kept schools open during COVID, ended mask mandates, protected parental rights, and secured a historic teacher pay raise by cutting waste without raising taxes.

As Knox County Mayor, Betsy will fight for personal freedom, low taxes, excellent roads and schools, and a government that gets out of the way so families and businesses can thrive.

Courageous Conservative. Fighting for Families.

Beau Hawk is a union ironworker, labor leader, and Democratic candidate for Knox County Mayor. As President of the Knoxville-Oak Ridge Central Labor Council and a member of Ironworkers Local 384, he fights to create opportunities for working families, strengthen the local economy, and make Knox County more affordable.

Beau grew up in Chattanooga before moving to Knoxville. He brings a working-class perspective to the race, shaped by his experience as a business representative for the Knoxville Building & Construction Trades Council. He is committed to addressing the real struggles of everyday people, from housing costs and good-paying jobs to quality roads and public services.

Beau believes Knox County deserves leadership that puts working families first, moves beyond the status quo, and delivers practical solutions so families can thrive, afford to live here, and build a better future.

Fighting for working families. A Knox County we can afford.
