ETEC Award Nominations

The East Tennessee Economic Council is currently accepting nominations for the Muddy Boot Award and the Postma Young Professional Medal. Please visit the linked pages dedicated to each of these awards to view objectives, criteria, and a list of past winners. 

Nominations are OPEN from September 16 to October 14, 2026. The awards will be presented at the ETEC Annual Meeting & Awards Celebration on Friday, December 4, 2026.

Nomination submissions for the Awards should include:

1. A letter to the selection committee containing specific reasons for the nomination. (Multiple letters are not necessary. You may have multiple signatures on a letter if you would like.)
2. The nominee’s resume and/or bio.

Tips & Hints:

• We encourage you not to let the nominee know about the submission. It is a tradition to keep the awards a secret until they are presented.
• Please include any community service details about the nominee. It makes a difference.
• If your nominee is chosen, a member of the ETEC staff will contact you in November.
• Please resubmit nominations for previous nominees who have not yet won the award.
• If the nomination is a resubmittal, you can include an addendum to the letter that contains any updated information or accomplishments the selection committee should be aware of. ETEC has the original submission on file.
