Composites at Baylor University – From the Micro to the Macro, From the Laboratory to Commercial Implementation

Learn about the recent advances from the Scientific Innovations in Complex Engineering Materials (SIC’EM) laboratory of Baylor University.  Two specific technical examples will be provided to demonstrate the SIC’EM team’s ability to automate the inspection process through full-waveform capture methods and automate the quantification of the expected part performance. Along those lines, Baylor researchers have developed multiple FAA 8100-9’s demonstrating our inspections comply with airworthiness standards enabling the commercialization path and industrial acceptance.  Baylor researchers are looking to expand our impact by partnering with IACMI members to expand the application space of the developed technology to challenges of interest to the members, such as in the area of high rate aerostructures, mobility, and wind energy.

Join us February 20,  during your lunch break for these engaging presentations.
