ETEC members meet each Friday morning from 7:30am-8:30am. This meeting is open to all members and their guests.
We welcome our members and their guests to attend the ETEC meetings in person. It is the best way to connect, or re-connect, with friends, colleagues, and potential business opportunities.

Description of talk:
In almost 15 years in Oak Ridge, Dave has helped to lead community activities for UT-Battelle at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and, previously, for contractor B&W Y-12 at the Y-12 National Security Complex. In his presentation, Dave will discuss current Lab outreach strategy as well as a broader view of challenges and opportunities for Oak Ridge and the region. __________

David M. Keim
Chief Communications Officer
Oak Ridge National Laboratory
David Keim is the Director of Communications and Community Engagement at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, which conducts research and development in materials science, high performance computing, advanced manufacturing, energy technology, and nuclear science and engineering for the U.S. Department of Energy. He is responsible for the Lab’s internal and external communications, community relations, visits, and events.
In 2017 and 2018, Dave led the effort to transition the American Museum of Science and Energy (AMSE) from its long-time home on Tulane Avenue into its current location in the Main Street development. Dave led the multi-site design team and now serves on the board of the AMSE Foundation, which was established to encourage broader support for AMSE.
Before joining ORNL in 2012, Dave served as director of Public and Governmental Affairs at the Y-12 National Security Complex and previously was an editor and reporter for newspapers including the Knoxville (Tennessee) News Sentinel, where he founded the Greater Knoxville Business Journal (now Knox.biz) and Book of Lists.
In addition to the AMSE Foundation, Dave serves on the board of Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee. He is a member of the Leadership Knoxville class of 2006, a member of the University of Tennessee Chancellor’s Associates class of 2010, and a graduate of Ohio University.
